Consulting and Psychotherapy
My career as a clinical and consulting psychologist spans over 30 years. My research in the areas of Intimate Partner Violence, HIV/AIDS prevention, Adolescent Psychology and the sequelae of migrations has shaped my teaching and clinical work. I see most human problems deriving from situations of injustice, inequity and misunderstanding.
My psychotherapy services focus on rebalancing relationships, improving communication among interethnic and interracial couples and families, and healing the trauma of migration, family and intimate violence.
My consulting services are being used by educational, public health, mental health and alcohol and drug abuse programs and organizations to increase cultural competency among staff and administrators.
